sensorial research
With architecture as its starting point, the research investigates the sensory identity of materiality and how color, material composition and light influence perception and emotion. Experimentation with materials, textures and surfaces informs the design of new materials, objects and spatial installations.
The inquiry is grounded in the development of a central idea, or concept, inspired by the need for materiality and design to reconnect with their ethical identity and take on a deeper meaning.
01
Knitting clay
Research into a new aesthetic for ceramic surfaces, drawing on the traditional weaving of Thrace.
Gesture, rhythm and repetition are translated into tactility on the clay surfaces, shaping a system of new forms, compositions and colors.
02
Bossa Nova fragments
Through synesthesia, the rhythm of bossa nova is translated into a visual and material language.
Listening, painting and rhythmic analysis generate patterns, perforations and material compositions for the design of surfaces and objects.
03
(Un)controlled
Experimental research into new decorative melamine surfaces.
By varying the resin composition, temperature and humidity, the project generates unexpected colors and textures while exploring the boundaries between a controlled process and an unpredictable outcome.
04
Electric stillness
A proposal for a new aesthetic direction - tendency that translates the tension and instability of contemporary life into color, materiality and light.
Contrasting textures, shadows and material compositions create a visual narrative in which apparent calm is charged with underlying tension.
