NM APARTMENT
Complete apartment renovation, in Nea Makri - Attica.
Design - Construction: 2022 - July 2023
The architectural intervention explores the meeting point between the atmosphere of the 1970s and a contemporary, restrained design language. By removing the existing partition walls, the original shell was opened up into a fluid interior where natural light and views towards the sea can move freely through the space.
The uninterrupted relationship with the seascape became the starting point of the composition. Large openings, clear glazed surfaces and slender profiles gently frame the horizon, reinforcing the continuity between interior and exterior.
The linear organisation of the plan, particularly in the kitchen and living area, creates a continuous front oriented towards the coastline. This gesture is emphasised by a concealed linear light running along the ceiling, while a timber-clad cubic volume integrates the service spaces as an autonomous architectural element within the open interior.
Dark Aliveri marble, natural oak, blue-green tones in the kitchen and the natural anodised finish of the window frames compose a warm, clear and welcoming space, with a distinct architectural identity and a subtle memory of the past.
