ALICE'S KITCHEN

The original apartment followed a conventional layout, with the living room and kitchen separated by a wall and doors that restricted both movement and natural light.
 

The central idea of the renovation was the redesign of the kitchen and its integration with the living room, where large openings allow daylight to spread throughout the interior.
 

The kitchen was conceived as a new, bright cubic volume, using geometry, materials and texture to bridge the previous spatial and aesthetic separation between the two areas. Light colours and glossy surfaces reinforce this quality, giving the interior a new material character and a more unified identity.
