TO NAMI
TO NAMI TRADITIONAL GROCERY in New Philadelphia.
Study - Build : July 2016
Nami is a space that found its name before we even encountered it.
The central architectural decision was to create an interior that feels contemporary yet familiar, ordered yet slightly undone, where a sense of chance remains present. A space that appears carefully designed and cared for, while still being allowed to evolve and acquire its own character over time.
Wood, marble, iron and textiles, together with a colour palette of sepia, brown and ochre tones, create the feeling of a photograph that has only just begun to age.
A further defining element of the proposal was the enhancement of the double-height space and its frontage towards the main street, together with the creation of multiple areas for product display and storage, each with its own spatial and material quality.
