BOSSA NOVA FRAGMENTS

For this project, I was asked to work with a material rooted in Brazilian culture, with the aim of creating a new object or surface. I chose an intangible element: the music of Bossa Nova.

I approached it as a sensory and rhythmic stimulus. Through listening, watercolor studies and rhythmic analysis, I translated musical syncopation into patterns, perforations, colors and material compositions.

The result is a visual and material language in which rhythm is no longer heard but becomes visible, tangible and perceptible in space.
