MATERIAL RESEARCH AND CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT:

The brief asked us to explore a new aesthetic for decorative faced panels for Assopanneli. 

We investigated how changes in the composition and curing of a melamine surface could generate unexpected colours and textures.

Using birch plywood as a base, the research explored the effects of mineral salts, heat and humidity. 

These experiments led to three conceptual surface directions, whose potential applications we examined across interiors, architecture and furniture.
